In 2005-2006, a group of students were interested in expanding service-related events on campus but struggled to find the time to meet and plan during school and most were heavily involved in various after-school activities. Thus began Service Learning Leadership. 

The class is designed to engage students in leadership roles by having them participate in the planning, running, and evaluation of a variety of service events or service-related activities. Students learn various leadership skills, styles, and techniques along with successful motivational strategies. The major emphasis is on defining service learning, community mapping, and how to affect social change. All students will learn to establish goals, time management, budget management, and planning and operating school-wide events.
