Share the Love - Haiti Relief Week
Teens for Jeans
Jeans will be collected throughout the week in Student Services as well as in the quad at lunch. We ask students to bring old or new jeans to donate to Haiti. If a student donates a certain amount of jeans, they may be able to receive up to 10% off from an Aeropostal store.
Dollar Drive Class Competition
There will be a competition between the grade levels. The grade level that ends up with the most 'points' will win a prize that is to be determined. Money will be collected during lunch. There will be booths at the quad and cafeteria as well as mobile booths that will be wandering around the campus
How the Point System works
  1. Each dollar will be counted as 100 points
  2. Coins will be counted on what they are worth x 100.
ex. pennies are worth 1 point, nickels are worth 5, dimes are worth 10 and quarters are worth 25
  3. Bills that are worth more than $1 will be counted as negative points
    $5=-500, $10=-1000, $20=-2000, $50=-5000, $100=-10000
The reasoning behind the negative points is to create more competition between the grade levels. For example, the sophomore class is ahead of the senior class by 500 points. A senior with a $10 bill can choose to put his or her $10 bill into the sophomore box which will subtract points which will put the senior class in the lead
T-Shirt Sales
T-shirts will be sold for $7.00 to raise funds for Haiti. The earthquake was measured as 7.0 on the Richter scale which is how we came to the price of $7.00. T-shirts will be sold at the quad for lunch. We encourage all students to wear their Haiti shirt throughout the week and help spread awareness throughout the campus.
